To welcome attendees, you can say:
– Good morning everyone… Could I have your attention please?
Or:
– Good morning everyone… If I could have your attention please
Then:
– I’d like to welcome you all here today.
Or:
– Thank you all for coming!
Or:
– Thanks everyone and welcome to today’s meeting!
If there are other presenters, you will introduce them saying, for example:
– I’d like to welcome you all here today.
– My name is Jane, and this is John, the head of the department.
– I’m sure you also know Mary, who is in charge of… (web content or the accounts department, for example). She will also be presenting today.
When you want things to get started, go on saying:
– Now let’s get down to business! (which means: let’s begin to discuss the important information).
– Perhaps we can make a start. Let’s begin!
Introducing the topics and outlining the agenda:
– Today’s meeting is about… (the new marketing strategy adopted recently).
– In today’s meeting, we’ll cover different subjects like economic development in Europe.
– The aim of this meeting is… (to find a solution to a decline in our turnover in the last three months).
– We will talk about different urgent issues like the recent change in the social security contributions (resulting from the Government’s new policy…).
– We’ll go over our goals and welcome Peter and John.
