Useful vocabulary and phrases
INTRODUCTION
When managing a project with a team, you need to familiarise yourself with the current process and jargon. In every project, you have to learn and adapt as you go along.
Although you try to plan everything, there are always unpredictible challenges and obstacles which might come up. So, an agile approach is highly recommanded. It’s a good idea to hold sprint retrospectives, or mini-debriefs at the end of each sprint.
Before we go further into the matter, do you know that only 2.5% of companies complete 100% of projects they begin?
Let’s take a closer look now at all the challenges that a project entails and at some suggestions as to how you could cope with the obstacles that these challenges might create.
What can happen in the initiation and planning phase? What can happen in the execution phase, including the refining phase? What can happen in the closure and delivery phase? This is what we are going to see together.

As you will be debriefing with your team at different stages of the process, we will provide you with the jargon necessary so that you don’t feel confused when faced with managing tricky situations.

Project management consists of 4 (or 5) process groups or phases, namely:

MONITORING & CONTROL
CLOSING
